Wonderfully gruesome Halloween story. My mother was a Nurse at a Nursing Home for many years and I know she would have gotten a real kick out of this edgy piece.
I hope this short story portends a future, second anthology from Ms. San Giovanni.
Wow, cool, spooky story.

a delightfully demented halloween short …thank you mary
I think this was really well written and it was a very good capture of a scene. The descriptions were perfect, the characters were mysterious yet intriguing yet still just a little bit easy to understand and figure out and not in a bad way. It’s definitely creepy. It’s a perfect Halloween story! I haven’t read a good one in such a long time.
I really enjoyed this. I must check out this writer. This was a positively great introduction to this writer’s work. I enjoyed reading this and was sad to see it end so shortly and quickly. I’d have liked a little more to go on at the end. But I’m just that kind of fan of horror writing… A bit of gore and stuff doesn’t hurt!
Awesome story. Perfect for Halloween. Thanks so much!!
Thank you so much for the bedtime story, Madam Sangiovanni! Seeing a couple of my favorites in those future authors, I am going to HAVE to come back to this website
Great story. Loved the ending. I was surprised to see the quote by Albert Fish. Not often you run into anyone who knows of him. Thanks for the story.

Excellent story, I thought: lovely sense of place and an atmosphere you can cut with a knife. I’ll be keeping an eye out for your stuff in future.
A great read to start my day. Killer first line.
Wow. Fantastic story! I actually got goosebumps at the end.

Once upon a time in the land of Mary, Mary wrote a short story. The story was fabulous, and the townspeople of Mary land wanted more. The end.
Awesome story, Mary!
Great story, Mary. As always, I am jealous!
What a great story! Very vivid, I’m sorta glad I read it in daylight, but I sorta wish I’d read it at night
Thank you, Ms. Sangiovanni
Fantastic story Mary, as usual. You continue to captivate me with your writing and your dynamic personality. I was a fan of you before you even knew you had fans. Please don’t ever stop being you.
